I love and hate this city. Buffalo / By: Siclari - Random

Image
I am not moving and will be here forever, but man does this city piss me off.          I love and hate this city. Buffalo. Yes, Brandon the die hard Sabres and Bills fan. Brandon the guy who lives downtown and makes a point to travel to as many new bars and breweries in the city and surrounding areas.             I have been living in downtown Buffalo since 2012. I figured that was the best place to be. I was 25 years old and wanted to be in the middle of everything. I moved to North Street, 1 block away from Allen. It was fun. Walking distance to a lot of bars. I had a rooftop patio overlooking the city. From there I moved 1 block right onto Allen, across the street from Brick Bar. Its an amazing thing when you can use your own bathroom while you go out on a Friday and Saturday night. By this point I was 29 and wanted to get away from the thick of things so I decided to move to Larkinville. I have been there ever sense. It sounds like I am praising the city, I actually am doing

Something Needs to Change. / By: Siclari - Sports

I'm over draft picks and prospects. After last nights game the team lost me.                Something needs to change. I go back and forth on what that change should be? Trade everyone? Fire the coach? Bring players up from Rochester? November was fun. Going to the games was an event, the arena was alive and there was hope in the city again. A city that is starving for a playoff team, and a city that deserves a playoff team. The Sabres have the 2 pieces that are the hardest to get. An elite #1 center (Eichel) , a  #1 defenseman (Dahlin). On top of that, they also have a scoring winger (Skinner), so what is the problem? This season I have tried to look at the positives of this team. I think I hit my breaking point last night with their 4-1 loss to a bad devils team. I still believe the Sabres have players on the team that can be very good, the problem I am seeing is the system in which these players are asked to run. Buffalo is towards the top of the league in "Dump &

New Emoji installment. Women: 1 / Men: 0 - By: Siclari / Pop Culture

New Emoji's were released. Little did Apple know, they gave women a loaded weapon.  Well it happened gentleman. Without saying a word woman can take down men around the world.                 I am all about the new Emojis/2019 hieroglyphics including everyone, but I think Apple went too far with this new installment, specifically one. . .. Women have more power than ever now. Every time you say something stupid all they have to do is send 1 little (no pun intended) emoji and they win the argument.  Single men beware.  Married men beware.  With a single character women can make you question everything about your life.              Picture this. You’re at a bar and you meet a girl, you take her home. She leaves in the morning. You wake up, check your phone, and this is staring you in the face  Good Luck. . . .

Let’s take a quick look at the worst people in the world: Boston fans. - By: Brandon Siclari / Sports

Image
I hate them.                As we sit here this week depressed and awaiting our social media accounts to blow up with another Boston Championship parade, let’s not forget who is worse than the Patriots football team, their fans. I used to travel to Boston in the early 2000’s to visit my father. He was working there for 3 years. The city was amazing. I loved it. As I grew older, and I would like to say wiser. That hell hole of a place called Boston/New England area is a place I never want to see again.                 Due to their fans and sports teams, the whole city has turned into a dump to me, and I instantly hate everything about it. When the Blackhawks won all their Stanley cups, I never felt this way about Chicago. When the Yankees won multiple World Series, I never felt this way about New York City. I took a step back and realized it’s the fans, the most annoying, arrogant, assholes I have ever seen and met. “Appreciate greatness” that’s all I have been hearing. I must

Eli Manning is Not a Hall of Famer - By: Jeffrey Scott Krol / Sports

Image
If you ever stumble upon our tailgate at a Bills home game (La Galleria lot, seriously, stop by) you will quickly hear conversations regarding Eli not being good, and should not be in the Hall of Fame. Jeff, the loudest of us all. broke it down.  -sorry Rachel- Eli Manning is garbage. You knew that, right? You’ve watched him play? And yet I keep hearing it… from friends, from broadcasters, from Sports Center talking heads: “Eli Manning is a sure-fire Hall of Famer”. Wait, what? When did the Hall of Fame start inducting the overwhelmingly mediocre? Let’s take a look at his credentials and recap why Eli Manning should never, ever be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Every Pro-Eli argument starts with two basic facts: He won TWO SUPERBOWLS! He’s in the Top Ten all-time passing yards and passing TDs! Cool. Let’s talk about all of his “winning” first. Two time Super Bowl champ.  That’s a big deal right? You play the game to win championships, after all.

BREAKING: Allen vs Mahomes - By: Brandon Siclari / Sports

Here it is! What we have all been waiting for, Patrick vs Josh. 15 vs 17. Chiefs vs. Bills. We have our match-up, Allen v Mahomes. . . . .In a competition to see who can throw the ball farther. . . . . . Yesterday on Barstool Radio Josh Allen challenged Kermit, I mean Mahomes to see who can throw the ball farther. Last year Mohomes stated " I've seen these things with Josh, but I'm going to say I believe I have the stronger arm. I've never seen anyone throw harder than me with the football, Until I see it in person, I believe I have the stronger arm." Here is my quick take on this. Allen has a video throwing the ball 77 yards, Mahomes claims at his pro day he threw it "like 80 if it was windy, but I didn't throw it as good as I could have. . . " Mahomes sounds like that kid that claims he is an amazing Ice Hockey player then you get him out there and he starts blaming the skates or the stick was tapped wrong. I'm not saying he doesn

Buffalo Fans vs Philly Fans – Being a Buffalo Sports Fan and Living outside Buffalo - By: Nathan Houser / Sports

My cousin Nate is a huge Buffalo Sports fan, sadly, he lives in the hell hole of a sports town, Philadelphia. Below are his stories.  To Start I’d like to say that I don’t actually live in Philadelphia, but I live about 25 minutes away in Hockessin, Delaware. I moved to Delaware in August of 2010 when I was 25 years old. I say this just in case there is anyone from Philadelphia who is reading/listening to this I don’t want to have anyone stating “You can’t say this” or “You can’t say that,” because “You don’t live in Philly” or “You’re not from Philly.” This way everyone knows where I am coming from in my thoughts/opinions. Philly Fans             The first thing that people typically state about Philly fans is how terrible they are. That is something I can both agree and disagree with, but I’ll point out just a few moments that stick out in my head due to being here for it, the fans still talking about it, or it being newsworthy: The time one guy intentionally threw up

ImNotSoBad - By: Marty Finucane / Politics

I tasked Marty with explaining to everyone why he is not the asshole everyone thinks he is. I labeled him the "Worst Sports Fan in Buffalo", we will get to that on a later date. Below focus's on his political views.  I’m not so bad. Really, I’m not! I may be a bit of a troll with a meme problem. Sue me! A good meme is hilarious, and I have a twisted sense of humor. Some people get me, and some don’t. I don’t really care either way. Just let me be me and you be you. That’s what being American is all about isn’t it? Freedom? Personal choice? Why are we all up in each other’s shit? How come every time I open Facebook or Twitter, I am forced to defend my right to free speech, to bear arms, or even my opinions as a man? Seriously, what the hell has happened to this country? How have we allowed our political discourse (or lack thereof) to become so toxic, that I can’t even hold a door open for an African-American family without being called a “white-privileged racist
